Sustainability Solutions to Share with Linchpins # 31

I’m sharing some “million dollar” creative sustainability ideas and you can have them for free.  Be a Linchpin and develop something: ship, ship, ship!

ACTIVISM:

If we’re going to have a healthy sustainable future, we have to keep up with technology.  As we’ve already featured, the government wastes exorbitant amounts of virtually every resource known to man.

Here’s an example: the laws concerning hand washing in food-service facilities was (finally) updated in 1998…to accommodate for the use of hand dryers rather than the wasteful use of paper towels.

(I seem to remember similar delays in the elimination of those nasty rotating cloth towel rolls that recirculated the grime once about thirty people dried their hands.)

Where’s the Linchpin opportunity?

The world needs movers and shakers to change the government.

I don’t think that we all need to be engaged in Non-Governmental Organizations and capitalistic enterprises…but most do.  A few (very few) should be willing to SERVE in the function of government.

Simple.  Beautiful.  Elegant.  Activism.  Sustainable!

In the old days, that meant a house and a college education, because you’d probably earn enough from either to pay back the debt, with interest. Today, housing is unpredictable and many forms of student […]

That’s exciting to hear. Until you realize that if you switch just one letter around, it spells eyes eyes eyes… As soon as you’re applauded, you have eyes on you. Eyes that belong to humans, to critics, to people hoping for the best. Mostly, to people who expect you to keep your promises. That’s part […]
  • Fear of kohlrabi
What do you do when you face an alien looking vegetable? It’s all over the farmer’s market, it’s cheap and plentiful and you’ve never had it before. Most people walk right on by. What’s the cost of being wrong, though? The economic cost is tiny. Make a mistake with a kohlrabi and you’re out about […]
