Sustainability Solutions to Share with Linchpins # 43

I’m sharing some “million dollar” creative sustainability ideas for free.

Be a Linchpin and develop something: ship, ship, ship!

Stairway to Sustainability:

I’ve often thought that stairs could be used to power buildings.

For that matter why not hallways too?

Where’s the Linchpin opportunity?

If the tiles on the floor were spring loaded, we could capture the energy of people walking on them, and use it to power the buildings of tomorrow.  Harness the power of food, in a whole new way.  (Encouraging people to walk more at work, makes for a healthier workforce too.)

Simple.  Beautiful.  Elegant.  People-Powered.  Sustainable!

Trademark protection is non-existent. Line extensions were avoided. The market was crowded. And on and on. It’s possible to do everything wrong and do very […]
  • Avoiding the GIGO trap
“Garbage in, garbage out.” It has a nice ring to it. And engineers have long embraced it as a mantra. If you don’t put the right stuff in, don’t expect to get good results. And so, when we banned leaded gasoline, the car industry complained that they’d never be able to make cars run well […]
